Neumann Companies, one of the Milwaukee area’s largest homebuilders, announced several shakeups to its leadership team and organization that it says will make it easier to develop new housing.

Steve DeCleene and Bryan Lindgren are now partners in the Pewaukee-based company and received promotions. Neumann Companies also officially combined several of its homebuilding businesses that have been operating for years as sister companies.

“Home creation has just gotten increasingly different,” said DeCleene, who is now president of Neumann Companies WI Inc. “There’s been really a need to combine the development end of it to design home sites specifically for a builder with a certain product in mind.”

As southeast Wisconsin faces a housing shortage, Neumann’s strategy is to build relatively large subdivisions with multiple types of housing products in them — smaller homes designed for first-time buyers, larger homes for growing families and duplex condominiums for empty nesters, for instance.

DeCleene was previously president of Neumann Developments Inc., a land development firm under the Neumann Companies umbrella. Neumann Companies also includes homebuilding firms Harbor Homes and Halen Homes, as well as basement renovation company Renova Services LLC.

Lindgren is now president of Neumann Developments; he was previously its executive vice president.

Neumann Companies has been building homes since 1986. It’s one of the most active homebuilders in southeast Wisconsin, with major subdivisions underway in Oconomowoc, Menomonee Falls, Sussex and Cedarburg.
